Can’t fault Matty Stevens’ effort but I’d really like to see some end product. Especially the one that Dokes took off the Colchester player, made a driving run and left for him should’ve ended up in the back of the net.

Best 45 mins of the season so far by a mile
Great movement up front and midfield supplying balls forward quickly
3 great saves by their keeper keeping the score down
Carry on like this and we’ll score again
Great stuff!

Agree. Great performance and all round good football, mostly on the deck. Should be 3-0 up though. Should really be making the most of the chances we've created.

All players working hard.

Bench looking strong too.

Totally agree. The movement and hunger of the new boys has really added an extra dimension. Let’s just keep the errors down in the second half.

Sounded like a solid first half but commentary still crackling though I am in Lanzarote so can't complain.

Looking for shade second half as its 34C although chilled San Miguel helping to keep me cool.

Great contest. Rovers took the first half and made the best chances throughout. But as Morton & Taylor tired, Colchester played us at our game.

One heart stopping suicide pass from Thomas. But we bigot away with it as the defence refuses to let in a goal. Besides, their keeper had his moments too

Jack Aitchison is top drawer and he & Stevens look convincing

So we road our luck again but it keeps happening. “1-0 to the Rovers .... “ as they used to sing in North London

Excellent first half the front two causing all sorts of problems. A very young team but we do nearly shoot ourselves in the foot sometimes with suicidal passes, must learn. I personally thought Kitching showed what a good player he is going yo be stood up and was strong.

That wasn't the best match with Colchester being big and burly, prepared to put in a few illegal tackles. Saying that we came through it with another good win and Jack Aitchinson looks a useful player. Nice to see Liam Shephard back in the FGR shirt after being out with an injury.

Attendance: 2758 (253 from Colchester)

Man-of-the-Match: Jack Aitchinson

Happy Lady Magpie this evening.

Should have added today, that was Forest Green Rovers:

100th EFL League Match

Won 38 Drawn 23 Lost 39

Not including playoff matches. 46+46+8 = 100

I believe Jack Aitchison is superior to Doidge. Some of his movements in both attack and defence were sublime. Hope he isn't called back to the Park anytime soon.

Entertaining game today,Great to see Shepherd back and more directness. Feed Aitchison and the goals will come. Most real pressure caused by risks taken playing ball out too short from the back. Great to see Lewis Thomas learning from Colchester near misses and clearing his lines in the last ten minutes, Two fields !!! BOX IT ! Onward and upwards. COYR.

agree with most of the comments-especially first half ,and similarly agree that you can understand why Aitchinson is at Celtic and not Stranraer

The poorer effort in last ten mins of first half and a lot of second half-i put down to nerves .

the players knew that one goal was not enough-and got very nervous .

I thought for 60 minutes winchester and Morton were excellent and thats why FGr controlled a lot of the game.

Morton tired from 60 mins (had been very good up to then)and made loose passes with his tiredness-should have been subbed earlier imo.

Wichester tired from 70 mins and so it became harder from then on.

I so rate Adams-but can understand that after being away-why he did not come on until late.

I would think Adams will get 95 mins on tuesday though .

(Where is Dawson these days ?)

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
